The Hook

“From near death to new life. Buc$$ aka 2Dollarsigns turned a brain bleed, broken bones, and his mother’s stroke into one of the most powerful independent hip hop debuts of the year.”

The Story

In 2024, Jaime’ Fenderson (pronounced Ja-May), better
known as Buc$$ aka 2Dollarsigns, was violently robbed at a repast in Danville, VA, where he was born and raised. The attack left him with a concussion, a brain bleed, and broken bones.

Seven months later, while he was still in recovery, his mother suffered a debilitating stroke.

What could have been the end became the beginning.

Now living in Richmond, VA, he rebuilt his body and mind:

Lost 30+ pounds through training and discipline.

Cut toxic ties and gave up drinking for clarity and focus.

Poured his pain into music, writing, recording, mixing, and producing over 100 songs.

The result is his debut album, Loss Taught Me Power. It is not just a title. It is a testimony of survival, sacrifice, and resilience.
